In this 3-day introductory training course you’ll learn basic layout, text and graphics manipulation, typography rules, drawing tools (bezier curves), color creation and application, style sheets, master pages, multiple pages, baseline grid, hyphenation, libraries, indexing, and much more.

- Navigating Adobe InDesign’s desktop and your document
- Managing and working with InDesign's Palettes
- Setting up and creating custom documents in Adobe InDesign
- Creating and using InDesign Master pages
- Using footers and automatic page numbering
- Adding, deleting, and reordering pages in InDesign
- Inserting special characters and white space
- Utilize kerning, tracking, and baseline shift
- Altering fonts with vertical and horizontal scale for creative effects
- Auto flowing text in InDesign
- Using Paragraph and Character Styles
- Threading and unthreading text frames in Adobe InDesign
- Creating and working with tables in InDesign
- Combining multiple documents into a Book
- Creating a Table of Contents and Index
- Using layers in Adobe InDesign
- Importing and linking graphics

Adobe InDesign and XML: Automating Publishing

This class is for graphic designers who are comfortable with Adobe InDesign and want to learn how to use XML to move content in and out of InDesign layouts. This project based course teaches you how to use InDesign and XML to automate process and repurpose content for publishing print documents or to the Web.
